NDUC Group Account

WHAT IS IT?

North Dakota Unemployment Compensation Group Account is a service NDSBA provides to its members to handle their unemployment claims. Established under the North Dakota Unemployment Compensation Law, this service allows districts to pool their deposits for the purpose of paying claims. After joining, all unemployment reports and claims are handled through the Group Account.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

  • minimal charge to participate
  • claims monitoring
  • payment of claims from the Group Account pool
  • reimbursement spread over a number of quarters to allow for budgeting

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Group Account requires a reserve of one percent of your previous year’s annual (calendar year) payroll up to $1.5 million and 0.2% of the amount over $1.5 million. We request that you pay this amount in one lump sum during the quarter that you join the Group Account so we can begin monitoring your claims immediately. Each year in March, we calculate the new quarterly payment amount for each district.

All claims matters are sent directly to our office from Job Service. We then send a form to you to be completed and returned. In this way, we are able to monitor all claims and assist in providing accurate and complete information in response to the claims.
